Community Treatment and Care (CTAC) service
NHS Lothian has been reviewing the way pimary care nursing services are delivered and have set up these additional services to support primary care.
You can self-refer to CTAC (based at nearby Conan Doyle Medical Centre) ON 0300 790 6296 for:
- Wound care and dressings
- Ear irrigation (after trial of ear drops from pharmacy)
- Removal of sutures/clips
You may also be referred to CTAC by our nurses or doctors for dressings and other procedures.
Minor Injuries
If you have an injury that needs urgent or immediate attention, you should call 111 to make an appointment with an expert in one of NHS Lothian’s Minor Injury Units.
The MIU team can help adults and children over 12 months who have a recent minor injury of up to 7 days, including:
- strains and sprains
- wounds and minor burns
- minor bumps to head and face
- simple eye injuries
- insect bites and stings
