  • DR KATARINA FORSYTH

    MBChB (Edin 1988), DCH, DFSRH

    Dr Forsyth has been a partner at Inchpark Surgery since 1995 and enjoys meeting new generations of the local families and striving for continuity of care. She has worked in Sexual Health Services and has an interest in Women’s Health. She has regular coil-fitting sessions at Inchpark. Outside work she has a grown up family and enjoys playing bassoon in amateur music groups as well as swimming and walking in the great outdoors.

    Dr Best grew up in Northern Ireland before moving to Edinburgh to do his medical training. He has an interest in musculoskeletal medicine and GP training. Outside of work, he is busy with family life and enjoys running and cycling in the Pentland Hills when he gets the chance!

    Dr Imrie graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2009. She is especially interested in lifestyle medicine, obesity and the management of Type 2 Diabetes but loves the variety that working as a GP brings. She is also interested in teaching, supervises the FY2 doctors in the surgery and holds an MSc in Medical Education. When not at work she loves spending time outside with her family, running, cycling or orienteering.

  • DR ROBERT COOKE-JONES

    MBChB (Hons, Sheffield 2016), BMedSci (Hons), MRCGP, DFSRH

    Dr Cooke-Jones grew up in Guildford and studied medicine in Sheffield before moving up to Edinburgh for work in 2016. He completed his GP training at Inchpark from 2021-22 and was delighted to return as a partner in 2024. His interests in medicine are sexual and reproductive health and care of elderly people. Outside of work he enjoys sport, music, family time and dog walks with his labrador Cally (a photo of whom adorns his desk!)

GP Specialty Trainees

GP Specialty Trainees are fully qualified doctors who are training to become GPs. They may be in their first year of training (GPST1) or third year of training (GPST3). They work under the supervision of a GP Partner.

Foundation Year 2 Doctors are fully qualified doctors who come to us for a four month rotation to experience general practice. They work under the supervision of a GP Partner.

Simone heads our team of secretarial and reception staff and is responsible for the day to day running of the surgery.

Reception

Our receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Pharmacists

Our pharmacy team provides support in the delivery of medicines related care. They offer medication advice and answer any medication related queries or concerns, support in acute and repeat prescribing, medication reviews to ensure complete, accurate and appropriate medication records. If you would like to discuss or have a question about your medicines, you can call the practice and ask to speak to the pharmacists who are available on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (9am to 5pm).

Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner

Karen is a chartered physiotherapist who provides expert assessment of patients with musculoskeletal conditions, e.g. back, neck, shoulder or knee pain. She can provide early diagnosis, suggest appropriate exercise to help manage your condition and, when appropriate, refer on to specialist services such as physiotherapy rehab, X-ray or orthopaedics. She can liaise with the GP to arrange medication which may help relieve musculoskeletal pain.

Practice Mental Health Nurse

Clare offers assessment, advice and support with regards to mental well-being. This covers a wide range of topics including anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement, memory concerns, post/pre-natal mental health, self harm, addiction (including gambling), feeling overwhelmed/distressed, trauma and crisis management. Please speak with our reception team to determine whether this service is appropriate for you.

Mary can help to link you with a wide range of local community resources and activities. Please make an appointment at reception (Wednesdays) She can signpost you onto services related to Finance / Housing / Adult Literacy / Health Eating / Exercise / Volunteering / Substance Misuse / Mental Health / Local Groups & Activities / Employment / Domestic Abuse / Foodbank Referral / Carer Advice Coffee Mornings / Arts & Crafts / Sports Clubs / Children's Activities / Gardening Groups

Citizens Advice Bureau

Community Midwives

The midwives hold clinics between 8:50am and 10:30am on Tuesday and Friday mornings and liaise with the hospital midwifery service to see mothers and new babies on their return home.
