Practice Nurses

The practice nurses provide the following services:

  • Blood Tests - any weekday before 1.40pm
  • Check-ups for patients with heart trouble, stroke, diabetes, asthma, chronic bronchitis, high blood pressure (birthday month).
  • Cervical Smears – let reception staff know you are requesting a smear appointment.  
  • New Patient Health Check

Other Services

  • Joint Injections  - see Dr Best to discuss  
  • Contraception - all forms of contraception are available including coils, implants & injections. Please make an appointment to discuss.
  • Ante-Natal Clinic - Tuesday and Thursday mornings including booking appointments.
  • Child Health Surveillance - invitations sent by health visitor.
  • Cervical Smears
  • Citizens Advice Bureau - Available every Thursday afternoon for patients registered at the surgery. Please make your appointment at reception.
  • Community Link Worker - Available every Tuesday 

Community Treatment and Care Services (CTACS)

NHS Lothian has been reviewing the way Primary Care nursing services are delivered and have set up these additional services to support Primary Care.

You can Self Refer to CTACS ON 0131 537 7205 for -

Wound Care and Dressings

Ear Irrigation (after trial of ear drops from pharmacy)

Removal of sutures/clips

You may also be referred to CTAC by our nurses or doctors for Dressings and other procedures.
